Strawberry lassi is a refreshing variation of the classic Indian lassi. Traditionally made with yogurt (often dahi) mixed with water or milk, this version adds fresh strawberries for a naturally sweet fruit flavor.

This recipe highlights the juicy, fragrant taste of strawberries and makes a lovely alternative to mango lassi. It’s creamy, light and perfect when you want a sweet but fresh beverage.

Easy to prepare at home, lassi is a delicious treat for breakfast, as a cooling snack, or to pair with spicy meals. Its smooth texture and fruity notes make it enjoyable any time of day.

  • Creamy texture: Blended with yogurt, it becomes smooth and silky on the palate.
  • Quick and simple: Ready in minutes, ideal for breakfast or a healthy snack.

Ingredient notes

You’ll need the following to make strawberry lassi:

  • Yogurt: For a traditional touch use dahi if available, or substitute Greek yogurt or fromage blanc for a thick, creamy result.
  • Milk: Cow’s milk or a plant-based milk works fine; use more milk or water if you prefer a thinner consistency.
  • Vanilla & spices: Optional vanilla extract and a pinch of ground cardamom enhance the aroma.
  • Sweetener: Optional — maple syrup or honey are natural choices if you want extra sweetness.
  • Strawberries: Fresh or frozen strawberries both work. You can also use strawberry purée or flavored yogurt in a pinch.
