Pomegranate Prosecco Spritz Recipe for Festive Cocktails

Quick and colorful, a Prosecco pomegranate spritz makes a festive signature cocktail for the holidays. With half the glass filled with pomegranate juice, it often has fewer calories than many traditional mixed drinks—though December indulgences rarely worry about numbers. (Whole30 can wait until January.)

These spritzes are ideal served as an aperitif before a holiday dinner. They’re fast to prepare and, if you choose an affordable Prosecco, they won’t break the budget. For a bright finishing touch, drop a few pomegranate seeds into each glass and hand it to your guests with a smile.

Tip: For a holiday brunch, call them pomegranate mimosas—same drink, more festive name. Few brunch-goers will complain.

Prosecco Pomegranate Spritz

Quick to mix and with a festive color, these are a perfect holiday aperitif.
Course: Cocktail
Cuisine: American
Servings: 1 cocktail
Author: Marcia W. Smart

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces chilled prosecco
  • 3 ounces chilled pomegranate juice
  • Optional garnishes: Lime twists pomegranate seeds, rosemary sprigs, sugar to dip the rims

Instructions

  • Pour the chilled prosecco and chilled pomegranate juice into a champagne flute. Pouring the prosecco first helps preserve the bubbles as you add the juice. To serve a group, combine equal parts sparkling wine and pomegranate juice in a punch bowl and gently stir. Prosecco, cava, or champagne all work beautifully for this bright, refreshing cocktail.
