We live in New Hampshire, where cold weather lasts five to six months each year. We had about an inch of snow last night and it’s only October — winter is coming. That means it’s time to bring out winter gear: hats, mittens, scarves and, most importantly, warm winter coats.
Rothschild Kids is a well-established children’s coat company with more than 125 years of history. The business began when Samuel Rothschild sold outerwear from a horse-drawn cart to workers in Pennsylvania. More than a century later, Rothschild Kids has built a reputation for durable, stylish children’s outerwear. While they are especially known for their wool-blend coats, their range includes many styles, colors and sizes suitable for infants through preteens.
Here is a selection of Rothschild Kids coats:

I received a Rothschild winter coat for my daughter Emily just as she needed one. I try to buy larger sizes so coats last more than one season, but kids grow so fast it’s hard to keep up. This coat arrived at the perfect time and fit her nicely.

The coat features a pleasing blend of colors and passed my color-combination test. The seams are well constructed and the zipper is sturdy — a crucial detail since we’ve had zipper problems with other coats in the past. Only time will tell how it withstands harsh New Hampshire winters, but so far I’m confident in Emily’s Rothschild coat.

This coat fit Emily very well — roomy enough for layers on bitter cold days, yet not so bulky that it gets in the way. The matching hat and scarf are delightful; I’m not sure who loved them more, Emily or me. The set looks adorable on her.

We’ve actually had a Rothschild toddler coat in our family for several years. It has passed from Nathan to Joshua and will likely go to Luke next. That coat has held up very well and, importantly, we never had zipper problems with it. For a toddler boy’s coat that has been through a lot, that’s impressive.
I’m glad to have rediscovered Rothschild Kids and feel comfortable recommending their fashionable, quality winter coats for children. If you’re shopping for winter coats, it’s worth checking out Rothschild’s selection to find styles and sizes that suit your kids.
