Jasmine Rice

Jasmine rice is an excellent choice when you want a versatile, aromatic rice that pairs well with many cuisines. Carolina® Jasmine Rice is a favorite for its delicate flavor and enticing aroma. It has a soft texture with a slight stickiness that makes it ideal for Thai and other Asian dishes.

Serve it as a side, as the base for a main dish, with fresh fruit, or even in rice-based desserts.

Instant Pot Ginger Jasmine Rice

Carolina® Jasmine Rice cooks beautifully in the Instant Pot and is ready in under 20 minutes. This Ginger Jasmine Rice is fast, fragrant, and requires just five ingredients:

  • Carolina Jasmine Rice
  • Chicken broth (or vegetable broth to make it vegan)
  • Minced garlic
  • Ground ginger (or fresh ginger)
  • Fresh cilantro

In the pressure cooker it takes only 4 minutes at high pressure plus 10 minutes natural release. The sealed environment locks in the rice’s natural aroma and yields soft, slightly sticky grains. The stovetop method takes a bit longer but produces equally delicious results.

Instant Pot vs. Stovetop Ginger Jasmine Rice

Stovetop cooking requires slightly more liquid because steam escapes during cooking, while the Instant Pot traps moisture. For that reason the broth amount differs between methods, but the flavor and texture remain excellent either way.

For both methods add all ingredients except the cilantro, then follow the specific cooking steps below. After cooking, let the rice rest covered for 10 minutes, then fluff with a fork and garnish with cilantro.

You don’t need many ingredients to make delicious rice. Carolina Jasmine Rice has a naturally sweet, nutty flavor that pairs beautifully with garlic, ginger, and fresh cilantro. Those seasonings create a bright, aromatic side dish your family will enjoy.

Use low-sodium chicken broth in this recipe, or substitute vegetable broth for a vegan-friendly version. The volume of broth remains the same for the Instant Pot; the stovetop requires a bit more—see instructions below.
